Everything about the Claddagh was perfect. Our room faced the water and boy did I miss that when I got home!! I have never been in a motel, hotel or even a B&B that was this clean. Kudo's to the cleaning staff!!It was convenient to everything and in today's economy the price was unbeatable. Book your reservation now and you won't be disappointed.
Staying at the Claddagh was as relaxing as being in the home of a best friend

Staying at the Claddagh Motel and Suites was by far the best motel experience I've ever had, and I have traveled all over the United States. My husband and I felt more like we were staying in the comfortable guest room of a friend's home rather than the usual motel. The room was absolutely spotless, and the continental breakfast each morning was very satisfying. The Gilmore family was gracious, patient with our questions, and extremely knowledgeable about the local area. They provided a wealth of information about things to do and places to see--some suggestions were for places we'd have definitely missed without their guidance. They made us feel like friends of the family, and we definitely plan to stay at the Claddagh the next time we visit Maine's mid-coast. The Claddagh can't be beat for its accessibility to scenic Camden and Rockport. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are wonderful day-trip destinations from the Claddagh. Our room had a beautiful view of Penobscot Bay. The beach was just a 2 minute walk away.
Amazing gem of a place, will make your journey top notch!

I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon Claddagh Motel and Suites. Immediately when I walked into the office and met Alex I felt at home, exactly what I needed at the moment. The atmosphere and his friendliness brought me back to my joyous self. This truly is a gem of a place, amidst a plethora of inns to choose from, you would not want to miss this one. It was a pleasure to feel so at home and warm for my night there. It is obvious that Alex and Sioban not only enjoy what they do, but they take pride in creating a beautiful, happy, welcoming atmosphere for their guests. This place is truly a home away from home, and good conversation abounds - from evening and morning chats to local recommendations, you will be taken care of. I would not miss an opportunity to stay here, it will add dimensions to your time on the coast of Maine. Enjoy!
Spoils one for other motels

We stayed at the Claddagh for four nights in August. I have always been leery of hotels that have been rated 5 stars by everyone who has stayed there, thinking that it has been written by either close friends or relatives.
I am happy to say that the Claddagh lives up to its advance billing. Alex couldn't have been nicer and brought a kettle, tea pot and tea bags to my wife who, being English loves a proper cup of tea made with BOILING water and not just hot. This started our love affair with the Claddagh and continued with the Irish scones for breakfast and the absolute cleanliness of our room every day.
If I had a complaint it would be only one that applies to every Irishman. That of underestimating time and distance. I have run into this many times in Ireland and have to say that the beach is only two minutes away if one is on Red Rum or Shergar.
As i said in the beginning the problem with the Claddagh is in comparing other motels and hotels to it and finding them second best by a long way.
The cleanest, most delightful "home away from home" we've found during our vacations

The Claddagh Motel offers all of the amenities of more expensive and renowned chains but at half the price and with much more personal attention. The owners have done everything possible to make one's stay comfortable and convenient and were glad to provide information about local events, attractions, restaurants and routes. The accommodations were very comfortable and extremely clean. On our trip through the east coast, the Claddagh Motel provided the most enjoyable stay we experienced!
Absolutely AWESOME!!

We had the opportunity to come to the Claddagh Motel as a trip with my parents to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. We picked it because my Mom is Irish.
I would like to echo the sentiment that Alex makes you feel right at home. We could have just sat and listened to his stories. Siobhan sense of style and color in the rooms made you feel like you were in Ireland. Our room was very spacious and adorable with the Irish Linens and throw pillows not found in the chain hotels.
The whole motel is incredibly clean. The location is right on the water and awesome. We are already planning to return.
Very pleasant stay

My husband and I chose to stay at the Claddagh motel because we saw excellent reviews on tripadvisor. I have to say we made the right choice. The owners were very nice and went an extra mile to make us comfortable.
One of the nights when my husband borrowed a wine opener from Alex ( one of the owners) he gave us two wine glasses along with saying that the wine should never be had out of plastic cups. I thought that was really sweet.
The rooms were very cozy, clean and well decorated. There was high speed internet access. Bathroom was small but served it's purpose very well.
We had originally intended to stay one night but stayed on for another night. We got good tips about the places to see around. The owners were never in a hurry and were very patient in answering our questions.
Overall, we are both very happy that we chose to stay here and would definitely stay at the same place when we go back. It was an excellent value for the price we paid too.
